The conceptual framework, individual activities, and instructional materials are designed to support state and academic standards.
Organization of Lesson Framework:
1. Knowledge of Art Media: Activities are general introductory lessons that focus on awareness. They are designed to establish a foundation for most of the activities that follow, to develop a basis of understanding of various art media and to comprehend their function.
2. Knowledge of Subject: Students experience a hands-on presentation of a live animal model, if sanctioned. Our curriculum evolves around objects of nature, our natural environment, and wildlife as a subject. Sight, sound, touch, interaction addresses animal specie characteristics, habitat, application of art elements usage and principles perception in real time.
3. Sustaining Wildlife Resources: The activities are designed to serve as a way for students to recognize, evaluate, and make responsible choices in their own lives regarding natural resources while reflecting on the knowledge and skills they have acquired participating in the lesson.
Organization of each Lesson:
Each lesson includes a statement of the instructional objective, a brief description of the instructional method used, a list of materials, step-by-step procedures, biography of subject, extensions or additions to the activity, duration of program, group size and location and suggested appropriateness based on the grade level of the student. PWP emphasizes that the grade level recommendation is based on correlation to national subject standards not on the ability of the student to perform the activities.
(Activities may be adjusted by educators for use with broader grade levels, as appropriate.
