Dedicated to enabling every person the opportunity to enhance their knowledge and advance their skills to a higher level exalting the arts with community involvement.
Our Mission is to connect kids to nature & wildlife through the 'ARTS'!
Throughout the ages, animals have been a source of fascination to humans. Whether loyal companions, fearsome foes, or means of sustenance, animals with their grace, vigor, beauty, and mystery have inspired people to create works of art.'---Thaddeus Gar Davis, Associate Professor and Community Education

Art  with a 'Wildlife Twist'??
'Throw out your old ideas about art class........we bring learning to life by connecting kids to wildlife with dynamic hands-on, up-close animal encounter art activities!
We use non-traditional pairing of subjects which bring new interest to both the sciences and the arts that allow kids creative participation, exploration, discovery within their environment and community.
Our founders, who are award winning wildlife artists, and who are actively involved in conservation work, protecting the world's precious wildlife and its habitat, brought their skills, and animal husbandry to Painting With Pat to create a one-of-a-kind Art Organization with a 'Wildlife Twist!
Art crosses cultural, ethnic, social, and geographic boundaries to teach a greater awareness of our nation's  natural resources. Art is not taught as a subject to be consumed in a sterile studio. We take kids beyond the walls of the studio or classroom to their own backyard, zoo or nature park!! We use animals and our natural world as the subject for our art in order to get kids and families outside to cultivate a love of nature and wildlife through the 'ARTS'!
'Art gives us new eyes and ears to make us all more aware of and in touch with each other and our surroundings.'
'By creating Wildlife Art you are motivating the people around you to become aware of the animals in their own backyard and to become caretakers of wildlife!' --Richard MacGregger, TWRA
How did we get started?
We have all been actively involved in conservation work protecting the world's precious youth and wildlife in some method, large or small across the U.S., two hundred and ten years, summative of all careers! We all came together seventeen years ago to form, Sinking Creek Studios.  In June of 2005, Sinking Creek Studios became, Painting With Pat,  501(c)3, a non-profit art education organization with the distinction of being a one-of-a-kind Art Education Organization with a 'Wildlife Twist', connecting kids to wildlife and nature through the ARTS and as a result promote wildlife conservation!
Our work was intensified when school budget cutbacks had all but abolished art programs in public schools.
The absence of art in schools disconnects children from an outlet that allows them to dream, create, experiment, and self-expression. It took away a method of learning skills that children need to interact and communicate with society and the natural world around them. The 'Arts' is a well proven method of facilitating education when used to reinforce or to introduce academic material.

What do we do?
We are saving kids & wildlife one art project at a time!!
Painting With Pat provides Exciting Art Education Programs which promotes Environmental and Wildlife Conservation Awareness!
Together we can empower young people by helping them find their own individuality and strengthen  their connection between animals, art, nature and society.

We help children find the joy that art can give them as it stimulates critical thinking skills, promotes independent thinking and creativity.

We provide all art materials necessary for the workshops & classes we conduct. Every class gives a child a chance to explore various media, learn an art concept, get in touch with his or her own feelings, and discover their connection to the natural world.
  • We will come to your school or organization and work with directors, teachers, parents, volunteers to created new art programs or strengthened established programs.
  • We help to create out-door classrooms and green spaces for schools.
  • We create public art projects engaging children in wildlife and environmental conservation in- which they create butterfly boxes, songbird, humming bird and squirrel feeders. These animals later become our live animal models to draw from.
  • We work with kids creating 4' tile mosaics of endangered animals to be placed in their out-door classrooms or community.
  • We give kids the opportunity to enter art competitions, like the Jr. Duck Stamp Project that is recognized nation wide.
  • We conduct programs for schools, 'Trees Are Alive', with the help of our partner Smokey Bear and Forest Agents, to inform the kids how important trees are to our human and animal survival.
  • We transform the kids into movie-makers with "Claymation Metamorphosis".
  • We give kids a 'Voice' through their ART
for wildlife that have no voice of their own!

Painting With Pat connects kids to nature and wildlife through the ARTS!

We engage children in art projects that makes them aware of wildlife conservation and endangered species the world over which in-turn gives the children
a "voice" through their artwork to make their family, friends and community more active and aware of wildlife conservation and endangered species.

Whether we are fighting for the polar bears in Alaska or the migrating birds that fly through your backyard. We give the kids an opportunity to connect to wildlife through the arts, allow the kids to create a friendship with wildlife, fall in love with wildlife, and then we can ask the kids to help us save the wildlife!
