Got a Story?
Don't forget to take care of the wildlife as you enjoy their hospitality this winter!
"Painting from nature is not
copying the object; it is realizing one's sensations."             Paul Cezanne
Lizards can swim and some species can run on their back legs!
Art Supplies are so expensive and consumable! But WE can't turn down any child in need of a workshop or class where their eyes are opened to the world and wildlife around them in their own backyards and beyond; a time of exploration, discovery, and a time to dream!

The kids just use the art supplies up faster than we can supply them! You can be confident that your donations will go to the kids (approx. 100% of all donations buy art supplies for kids)

Painting With Pat in the 'News' !
Taking small actions in our daily lives can make a positive impact on our local environment.
Some actions you can take to help, Painting With Pat, is to cut the plastic rings that hold soft drink cans together before you throw them away. If the plastic rings do end up in a landfill, animals won't get their heads hung inside a ring and smother to death.
Never cut lead sinkers off your fishing line to fall into the water. Lead poisons aquatic wildlife. When you go to the beach this summer, be sure to keep up with your light plastic bags, because if they get into the ocean they resemble jelly fish floating in the water. Some animals eat jelly fish, if they eat the plastic bags thinking it is a jelly fish, they will die.
Small steps lead to giant leaps for wildlife!
These amazing reptiles have a long tail, eyelids, and four sprawling legs. Common Green Iguanas vary in color from green to brown with faint black bands around their body and tail. They usually weigh anywhere between 4.5 to 7 kilograms. Green Iguanas have a serrated crest along their back and lots of loose skin hanging from thier chin which is called a dew-lap.

Through the participation in the "Painting With Pat" project, I feel that our students here at Southside Elelmentary School, will benefit not only by learning about endangered specie here in Tennessee, yet they will also learn how to protect our environment and its inhabitants, how to work cooperatively in a group, and they will learn about art production process of two large mosaic sculptures. During the course of this project students will experience a wide cross-curriculum environment, integrating science, social studies, reading, geometry, art, and life skills. In sum, I feel that this project will be an all around great experience for the students at Southside Elementary School, by helping them to grow in many diverse ways, while participating with the Pulaski, Tennessee community at large.

Our goal at Ingram Sowell is to change the community's perception of the school. In order to do this, we have to 'step outside the box' with new innovative programs. I believe Painting With Pat, 'Growing Up Green' program is a great way to accomplish my goals. Ingram Sowell is an 'inner-city' school in a rural community. Students live in a very stressful home situation, and this program. backed by research, will play a significant role in reducing stress and protecting the students psychological well being. In the last two years, teachers, staff, community members and others have helped build an "Outdoor Classroom" and provided hands-on learning for our students. Painting With Pat is a great opportunity to make use of the classroom with the entire school body participation!.
Painting With Pat made the 'NEWS' all the way to Australia with our conservation work!!

The Australia Zoo, 'Home of the Crocodile Hunter', invited Painting With Pat, Inc. to participate in the 2008 Steve Irwin Day.....and we gladly accepted the invitation!
